June 2, 2009 - WASHINGTON, DC – According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), American ethanol facilities produced 640,000 barrels per day (b/d) in March 2009. That is an increase of 79,000 b/d from March 2008.
Ethanol demand, as calculated by the Renewable Fuels Association, saw a resurgence from February 2009 levels. According to RFA calculations, demand was 644,000 b/d, up from 595,000 b/d in February.
EIA shows fuel ethanol imports of 3.28 million gallons in March.
